I’m sure Challies has better updates, but here’s my impression so far of the conference.  And I don’t have much time as I’m headed back to the sessions but here goes:

Ligon Duncan: Very good message.  Theology Matters!  If your church isn’t teaching theology, you’re headed for a world of hurt.

Thabiti: This will be a landmark sermon on race I’m sure.  Basically, it is time we get rid of the category of race in looking at the world around us.  You’ll have to listen to it to understand what I’m talking about and hopefully I will get a chance to expound later on this week, but what a message.  The man is awesome.  Anybody who thinks John Piper preaches like a brotha is cool in my book.

John MacArthur:  JohnnyMac bein JohnnyMac.  Good message.  Keep the Gospel what it really is.  Quote of the day:  Hard preaching produces soft people.  Love it!

Mark Dever:  Good message and solid content.  I struggled a bit because previously eaten biscuits and gravy were warring against my faculties, but I survived.  Dever gave five cries to keep the Gospel from being distorted.  Awesome stuff.

Now it’s time for RC Sproul and Al Mohler.  This ought to be fun.  By the way, the singing here is amazing and proving that you don’t need a band to lift amazing praise to the Lord.  We have nothing here but a piano and ourselves.  Now having 5,500 people sing helps.  It sends chills up your spine to listen to.  I wish they would record the singing and post it online.

More to come….
