It was an interesting weekend to say the least and here are some thoughts running through my head:

  • If you’re going to hold an outdoor wedding, try not to do it on a day with 30 mph wind gusts
  • If you’re going to hold an outdoor wedding at a country club, try to get the club pro to make sure there’s nobody teeing off during the vows
  • If you’re going to hold and outdoor wedding, try to make sure you’re not in the takeoff pattern of a major airport so that you’re wedding songs aren’t punctuated by the sounds of a 737 taking off
  • Harps are really cool. I’ve never heard anyone play one nor had I ever seen one. We WILL have a harp at Eternity.
  • If holding an evening wedding that starts at five, try to make sure that dinner is served before 8. Guests tend to get cranky when made to wait to eat for two hours
  • Listening to Pilgrims Progress on audio is awesome. I had never read it but it’s an amazing book
  • Preaching yesterday on The Gospel in 1Corinthians 15 was awesome
  • Always check with the church you’re preaching at to make sure they will ACTUALLY have a PA system J
  • Along those same lines, always bring a short sleeve shirt in case the church you’re preaching at also is short on air-conditioning
  • FIFTEEN people who are interested in Eternity were there to hear me preach yesterday. It’s a very humbling thought and they were awesome folks. What’s more amazing to me is that we haven’t even moved to Jefferson City yet
  • EVERYBODY is dealing with SOMETHING. Don’t ever doubt that. Every heart needs the Gospel
  • You should make your church sing Old Rugged Cross at least once a quarter
  • I love my boys
  • I love my wife
  • I love Jesus
