This morning on the ride to school, this was the following interaction:

(MARC - After Giving Trey A Hug Before He Exited The Car): Trey - remember: You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose - but you can’t pick your friend’s nose.

(TREY - 8 Year Old): Silence

(MARC): It’s true Trey…

(TREY): Silence

(JOSH - 4 Year Old) : It’s true Trey. It’s very important. It’s in the Bible. Seriously. It’s in there.

And thus a blog post was born. Picking your nose was now pronounced to be found somewhere in the Holy Writ. We weren’t sure exactly where or what exactly God had to say on the matter, but we were sure it was in there because a four year old had said so. And it got me to thinking…that there are some striking similarities to what we believe about what is in the Bible regarding conversion and how we become a Christian.

As absurd as it sounds to hold to a belief that God addressed picking your nose in the Bible, I think sometimes we have equally absurd notions about what the Bible has to say about becoming a Christian…so this week at Eternity…after addressing the question “What Is The Gospel?“, we’re going to look at the question “What Does The Bible Have To Say About Conversion?”

Are some of the words that have become so commonplace in our vocabulary actually in the Bible? Does our terminology and our methodology really line up with what Scripture says?

The first weekend was great. We’ll see if that holds true this upcoming Monday J
